While it’s true that nothing can enhance your ride’s look better than custom wheels, it’s the rims that can make you car stand out. Within just a few minutes, you can take your car or truck from ho-hum to wow! There are a wide variety of Rims to choose from depending on what your needs or lifestyle are. You can get the typical 5-spoke wheel in alloy, wire wheels and even chrome spinners. These are OEM Rims that continue to spin even if your car isn’t moving. To improve the performance of your car or truck, you should install rims that are at least one or two inches larger than the factory wheels that come with your vehicle.

Now it’s true that Used rims and tires can be a costly endeavor, but by getting Used Rims it will help you save several hundred, to several thousand dollars. At OriginalWheels.com we offer a wide variety of used rims for a fraction of the dealers price. Opting to get used rims is a great way to get the overall look for your vehicle that you want, without needing to spend a lot of cash to do it. Regardless of whether you want the rims for your low profile tires or a quality OEM replacement, looking into second-hand rims will allow you greater freedom to find the ones you want at a price you can afford.

OEM stands for original equipment manufacturer. As a customer, when you see “OEM parts” it essentially means that the original manufacturer created those parts that were then purchased by another company and sold under that company’s brand name. If you decide to purchase OEM Rims, you can rest assured that the replacement part you’re getting was produced by the manufacturer of the original part. While these parts are created by the original manufacturer, they cost much less than if they had a famous name brand attached to it, but you still get the guarantee of satisfaction from the retailer.

Engine Options For the 2010 Cadillac Escalade

October 11th, 2010

One of the best selling large luxury SUVs each year is the Cadillac Escalade. Reviewers are in awe of the Escalade’s raw power, handling, and smooth ride. Like most years, the 2010 vehicle comes with a very powerful engine. The 2010 vehicle comes standard with a 6.2 liter, eight cylinder engine which is coupled with a six-speed automatic transmission.

The engine within the automobile is identical to the GMC Denali engine, except the vehicle’s engine has been slightly tweaked to get more horsepower and better fuel efficiency. The Escalade gets up to 403 horsepower at 5,700 revolutions per minute. Torque is estimated at 417 pound feet at 4,300 revolutions per minute.

A new feature in the 2010 automobile is cylinder deactivation. Cylinder deactivation is a fuel saving technology which automatically shuts down four of the eight cylinders in the vehicle engine when they are not needed. Therefore in situations when the Escalade is idling, or on cruise control only half the engine is burning fuel, which helps save on the amount of fuel being burned. With that said, the 2010 automobile gets an estimated fuel economy rate of 16 mpg.

The 2010 vehicle comes in four different trims, all of which use the 6.2 liter engine and have all wheel drive. The engine within the 2010 automobile is similar to the 2009 vehicle engine. The main difference between the engines is the cylinder deactivation, which improved fuel efficiency from about 14 mpg up to 16 mpg. The 2009 automobile was also available with 2 wheel drive, which helped improve fuel efficiency.

Turning Too Fast and Cutting People Off Without Warning

October 11th, 2010

How many times have you been driving on the highway only to be cut off by another person who was determined to be in front of you for the ramp exit? It makes you wonder if it was their first time seeing it or if they feel that by being a few cars ahead then they will get to work faster that morning. The problem with this driving behavior is it does not give the person you are cutting off a chance to react and it may in the end cause an accident.

What if you did not have a chance to react…would you be at fault for this accident? There are several examples of driving behaviors that can cause accidents and it is a drivers beware market out there since you are responsible not only for yourself but for the way the other drivers act on the road. Things like “road rage” come to my mind when I see someone cutting someone else off on the road. You can see the driver getting upset.

I know there have been times when this has happened to my husband and he has reacted badly by tailgating the person all the way down the ramp and past the traffic light with his engine revving. This is something that could have easily turned into something awful. Who will get the traffic violation if there is an accident? Normally in this case is it really considered failure to yield if the car is not able to stop in time? Auto insurance policies and websites can sometimes answer these questions. Also, another resource would be the Department of Motor Vehicles. If you are looking to keep your auto insurance premiums down to the minimum argue it.

The more accidents and claims you file the higher your premiums go. It might get to a point where you have to search for another insurance company. If you do then conduct an online car insurance rates compare to see who can help you with prices on your premiums. Try not to get mad when people cut in front of you. Remind yourself it is not worth it. Besides, you may think they are going to work when they may be answering an emergency call.
